Time and Date of the Final Round: 10 May, 2025 (Saturday)

To enhance NCS children’s motivation and enjoyment in reading Chinese books
To boost NCS children’s confidence in using Chinese

Final Round:

Founder of picture book store – Mr. James Chong
Awards and Prizes
There will be one champion, one 1st runner up and one 2nd runner up, four merit awards in each group.
Champion: A trophy, a certificate and $700 book coupons
1st Runner up: A trophy, a certificate and $400 book coupons
2nd Runner up: A trophy, a certificate and $200 book coupons
Merit Awards: A certificate and $100 book coupons
Additionally, the winners will have the opportunity to be invited to perform at the Closing cum Award Presentation Ceremony of the Biliteracy and Trilingualism Campaign 2025 organised by the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR).
Competition Details
Participants could choose any Chinese storybook or borrow Chinese books from the Centre's Book Corner.
The language of interpretation must be Cantonese.。
Story Length: Kindergarten Group: 1 minute to 2 minutes Primary School Group: 2 minutes to 4 minutes
Late enrollment will not be considered.
In case of dispute, the organizer (Methodist Epworth Village Community Centre, Social Welfare) reserves all rights to make final decision of the competition.
Except for the names and schools, the personal data provided by the participants will be only used for contact purpose relating to the Storytelling Competition. Centre will not transfer or use the provided personal data for other purposes.
Photography and video recording will be conducted during the competition. These photos and videos will be used for promotional purposes, and uploaded to SCOLAR website and Methodist Epworth Village Community Centre Social Welfare website for social media, publications, or other purposes in the public interest.
